About us

My name is Kay Camongol, the Founder and Creator of Word Fiesta. I'm an Australian Filipino who migrated to Australia when I was only 2 years old. Despite being raised in this country for over 3 decades, my parents made sure that my sister and I kept the Filipino culture at home by knowing and speaking Filipino (Tagalog).

Now a mother myself, my husband and I also want to raise our Australian born children knowing and speaking our mother tongue. It is a challenge that many families in English speaking countries face as we really need to be intentional with the way we communicate to our children.

Even though this is my project, my family have played an active role in the development of these cards and I couldn't have done it without them.
